In some videos of Neil Armstrong landing on Moon, I have seen flag of U.S.A waving. How's that possible on moon?
Have you actually watched those videos, or are you just regurgitating something you read on a conspiracy web site? Because it's pretty obvious if you actually watch the video that the reason it's waving is because the astronaut is shaking the darn thing.

The flag was supported by a stiff wire and shuving into the ground the pole also put some vibration in the wire which obviously caused the flag to wave. This question has come up many times by folks who are convinced about conspiracy by NASA. In fact, its very hard for the goverment to hide things for long due to profit or political motive to expose. Like, The H bomb, or Nixon's tapes and of course the young lady hidding under Clinton's desk.
I've been hearing this one since 1970 when I was 25 and it will linger long after I'm gone. Gullibility knows no limits.
A moon landing video footage I saw showed the American flag waving.
How is that possible considering that the moon lacks atmosphere and therefore any kind of wind-flow is impossible?
Torque, you dorque! The astronauts had to jimmy it into place. Also, the moon does experience the occasional moonquake, some of which could have been artificial in nature, caused by the Apollo Lunar Surface Experiments Package (ALSEP) seismographic experiment, in which a mortar system launched explosive packets some distance away and seismographs measured the resulting shock wave to determine the composition of the moon.
If there is no atmosphere on the moon, then how is the American flag flying when they planted it during the moon landing in 1969?
When the flag was planted, the flag was moving because of conservation of momentum and the stiffness of the cloth. That started it flapping. Without air, there was no air resistance to slow it down - so it flapped much faster and much longer than you’d expect it to from such a gentle initial force.
So the ONLY thing that could slow the flapping down was the internal friction between the strands of cloth inside the flag and the energy dissipated by bending those fibres.
That meant that the flag flapped for quite a while before eventually coming to a stop.
Some interesting facts about those flags:
With the amount of solar radiation and intense UV light - the flags have long ago been bleached completely white.
A moon landing video footage I saw showed the American flag waving. How is that possible considering that the moon lacks atmosphere and therefore any kind of wind-flow is impossible?
This question has been asked and answered ad nauseam.
There was no wind moving the flag.
The flag was moving because of the momentum imparted to it as the astronauts themselves were moving it about as they were planting it.
The flag stopped moving almost immediately after the Astronauts stopped messing with it.
In point of fact, it actually continued to move for a slight bit longer after the astronauts stopped messing with it, than had there been an atmosphere. As there was no air to act as a dampening force to the flag’s movement. No air resistance.
Had there been an atmosphere, but still— calm air… the flag would have stopped moving even sooner.
The flag behaved EXACTLY AS IT SHOULD in the vacuum of space.
Try again Flat Earth Idiots.
A moon landing video footage I saw showed the American flag waving. How is that possible considering that the moon lacks atmosphere and therefore any kind of wind-flow is impossible?
This was explained on TV in the live broadcast at that time of the first landing, before the flag was brought out. The flag not only had a rod at the top to spread it out, but either the rod was springy, or there was an added spring, I forget which, to help create the waving effect. This was quite deliberate. It was just a little bit of whimsy and patriotic pride , and fun, from the engineers. I think it was to go along with the part in the national anthem that says “Oh say does that star spangled banner yet wave, o’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.”
A moon landing video footage I saw showed the American flag waving. How is that possible considering that the moon lacks atmosphere and therefore any kind of wind-flow is impossible?
I always find this particular question amusing. I’ve heard so many people use it as a “Gotcha! Explain that, Mr. Apollo Was Real!” What’s so amusing is that the moving flag is one of the better pieces of evidence that the video footage from the Moon’s surface is real.
Surely the conspiracy brigade can do better than this tired and endlessly explained “non-obxtion.”
Why is the American flag shown waving on the moon when there is no wind and did NASA ever answer this question?
It's not waving. It's held up by a crossbar across the top of the flag, and wrinkles in the material make it look like it's waving.
The only time it actually flapped was when it was buffeted by the backwash of the lunar lander's rocket engine as it took off. This actually knocked the flag over, as we saw via the automatic TV camera left behind.
OMG, the US flags were deployed on a spring loaded bar that snapped into place and the release of spring energy created the flapping. There's no atmosphere on the moon, duh, so it's obvious the flapping was caused by the deployment mechanism. It ain't rocket science.
How does the the flag move on the moon if there is no wind?
It doesn't. The movement you see in the videos of the landing is due to the chain weighting down the bottom swaying from the movement of placing the flag. With no atmosphere it would wave for a while, but eventually whatever the fabric equivalent of rolling friction is, will slow it down.

That flag looks as if it has a straight rod inserted across the top of it to hold it out straight. The bottom looks as if it is floating (like astronauts hair in the ISS) not being blown about by a breeze.
Is there wind on the moon? If not, how come in the footage of Neil Armstrong on the moon, the US flag is waving?
There isn’t any wind on the moon. Well, technically the Moon has an extremely thin “atmosphere,” but by Earth standards, it’s a hard vacuum. The film of the flag “waving,” as you put it, has nothing to do with there being any wind. The flag was secured by two sides to a metal frx. When dude planted it, it started vibrating and the flag being attached to it, the flag also moved. Because there was no air to create any drag on the flag and slow down the waving motion, it just sorta kept on waving.
A moon landing video footage I saw showed the American flag waving. How is that possible considering that the moon lacks atmosphere and therefore any kind of wind-flow is impossible?
Actually, you have drunk the koolaid because you think there is no air on the moon. Of course there is air. It is a secret that NASA and the Illuminati have tried to hide so they can keep their cities and bases there a secret. After all, if the general public knew there was air on the moon, everyone would want to go there, and then the 33rd Degree Masons would have to find another place to hide.
But, try as they might, that pesky lunar atmosphere made the flag move, so we know that it is all a hoax to fool us.
There is of course no atmosphere on the Moon so the flag isn’t “flapping”. What the flag is doing is waving. Waves still propagate in materials whether they are in an atmosphere or not. This is demonstrated numerous times and is why the flag required a rod at its top to make it stand out.

The US flag on the Moon during the first Moon landing appeared to be flapping because of the way it was designed. The flag had a horizontal rod along the top edge that allowed it to extend outwards, and it was also made of a lightweight material that could easily move in the absence of wind or atmosphere. When the astronauts were planting the flag, they rotated it back and forth to get it into the ground, which caused the flag to move and appear as though it was waving.
