India’s average wage, in terms of purchasing power parity (PPP), is on par with Brazil and other Latin American countries. However, what sets India apart is its significant economic divide. The country has an IT sector where entry-level salaries are comparable to average European wages in PPP terms. At the same time, there is a large population living in extreme poverty—an imbalance that is less pronounced in many other developing countries.
This disparity shapes perspectives both inside and outside India. Many internet users, who often belong to the more affluent IT sector, view India as a developed nation and a superpower. Meanwhile, some outside India may compare its poverty levels to those in parts of Africa. However, both perspectives are oversimplified and don’t fully capture India’s complex economic reality.

If you use that same benchmark threshold, you'll end up 81.8% of whole India living in poverty. That's basically whole India living poorly. And the BIG difference between poor in China compared to India, Chinese poor have decent housing since China has among the highest house ownership and their poor place is relatively cleaner because they have high civic sense compared to rat infested slums in india.

And big major difference even in poor areas in China you can rarely see any trash at all while in India it's mountain of dirt, poo and trash.

I'm from patna and I'm a witness of the dire condition of marginalized and poor people coming from these communities which is pretty evident from this video but one thing which i have seen that has bothered me a lot is, apart of these there is severe lack of sex education and knowledge about birth control among these communities because of this the family size is relatively large they generally have 3-5 kids on an average in a single family which males the situation even worse.

The picture of India as rich and wealthy is just a myth. Come to the North East and you will be greeted with unfinished , unpainted houses with rods jutting out of roofs because the owner has run out of money. It's very common to see buildings exteriors become black and mildewy from years of rain and inability to maintain. All the money , investments are going to Gujarat and south india.The North East is rich and beautiful only with what God gave us bountifully..... NATURE. We are pathetically neglected and forgotten.

Otherwise, you are just condemning yourself and the young ones to a difficult life. Especially now when inflation is globally rampant, even well off families are only having 2-3 children.
