Exactly this. My wife is a nurse manager, and we used to live in a very conservative area. After Trump was elected the first time, he cut a number of medical programs. Other nurses would come to her asking if there was any way to help certain patients, and she’d have to tell them, “We can’t anymore, that program was cut.” They’d be shocked and upset, but they were the ones who voted for it. People don’t seem to care until it affects them directly or they’re forced to witness the suffering up close.

Actions are what matter, and are the true judge of good and evil, not some arbitrary defention of current political divisions.
